Catch up time (Kesley)!!

Wow Time seems to have flowen By since my last post. It seems as if our life has been in shambles the last little while Taking each day one step at a time. Last time I posted I talked about Kesley Being in the ICU unit. This time is also about Kesley and her progress. Me and Jeremy was out in slc for a little over two weeks with her. In those two weeks I had a total of 3 procedures done my self, and Kesley tried to keep growing everyday. On July 7 our double digited lucky numbers Kesley did a turn around for the better. On 7/6 around midnight they gave her surfactant to try and open her airways up. We were told that 50% of the time it does not work and you have to try a second round of it if it didn't. Low and behold when I awoke 7/7 I told Jeremy this was our day for our daughters life to have a turn around. As we walked from our room to to hers I knew we had God on our side. We walked in to the doctor and nurses examining her and then they told us the news we had awaited for, that the surfactant had helped her tremendously and there would not be a second round required. Even tho this was great news it was just a small stepping stone in the next few weeks that Kesley had to climb and over come in order for her to come home. As the week progressed she moved up from the canula breathing machine, to another oxygen machine then finally a room air oxygen machine. This is when they finally told us we could start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and yo kind of start the planning of bringing her home. But at this point she still needed to come down on the percentage of oxygen she was requiring and needed to gain weight consecutively each day, as she had lost a lot and needed to get back almost to get birth weight. It took four days to do that and on Monday we were told we would be able to take her home Tuesday July 16th, all though we would be taking her home on oxygen. Then just letting her little body rest, heal, recover and just wait till she decided she didnt the oxygen anymore. We were very excited to come home and get back to Konner. We was missing him do much. Thankfully my mom was great and would bring him out to see us and bring us new laundry as well. As we left the hospital about 2:30 on tuesday our nurse Cara that had been with Kesley from the start helped us to our car, it was a bittersweet moment. Knowing God had let us keep our our baby girl. Knowing we had alot of learning ourselves on what Kesley would require. Knowing that she still has a hard road ahead of her to overcome but that she had just overcame the worst. In the days following she had to go to the doctor at least once a week if not more for the first 1.5 months. She was hospitalized once in Vernal, we had to take her to primary children's where we learned she had a narrowing in her descending aorta, and time would tell if she need surgery or not. At 9 weeks old she had gotten fully off of her oxygen and by September 16th the same day that we was able to bring her home on in July we were able to turn off all monitors she was hooked up to at home. And on September 29th we were able to finally take her out and have her blessed. October 1st another apt at Primarys where we learned the aorta had opened up as shes growing which meant no surgery. Our family has grown stronger through this time, we know nothing can break us, we have been through the worst of the worse. We have overcame many trials and difficulties as a small family. We have grown and learned much. As we know that this is just the beginning of a new journey for all of us.
