Long days, Late nights
So I'm sitting here next to Konner at 11:05 pm watching Paw Patrol episode Halloween. So last night Konner woke up with a cough. He coughed for 2 hrs then slept 1 then coughed another 1 hr. So between feeding Kesley at her 3am feed and taking care of him I'm exhausted. I called my mom at 7:30 and asked her if she could watch Kesley while I took him to Dinosaurland Pediatrics @ 10:15. Waited an hr as they were busy then Dr. Pollary came in. Checked Konner over then the news; he has croup. They gave him 2 pills then another 2 for in the morning. I called Jeremy to ask him to which kid we should keep at the our house. We decided we better keep Konner so we can watch him, and let my mom take Kesley to her house. She knows all our routines. We loaded her truck up with all the necessities needed for baby girl. Then me and Konner has been hanging out since 2. Got him in bed around 8:45, Jeremy and I headed to bed at 9:45 after watching a movie. Then honestly 5 minutes later Konner started coughing. Jeremy got him a sippie cup full of juice (no milk w/ cough) and laid by him. Ten minutes later as per the cough I head upstairs knowing its only a matter of time till he throws up because he's coughing so hard. I have always kept a container under his bed for those last minute instances. I grabbed the container just in time for it to unleash. Got everything cleaned up and laundry started. Yucky... Now we're just laying on the couch watching TV and unless this cough subsides will be up for at least the next few hours. I'm totally soaking up this time with him even though he's sick. With a baby in the house things have been a little different around here. As I left my moms tonight after taking a few things she needed down there the drive back home was hard. It is the first night I have been away from my baby girl. And even though she had been in the hospital for 2 weeks when she was born we never were away from her at night our room was right next door to hers. So yes I cried on the way home cuz I had to leave her, and my heart is torn. But I know she's in great hands and this is better for her and better for Konner. So now we just focus on getting him better and hoping Kesley doesn't catch it. Night night I'm going to snuggle my son.

Big Brother (Konner) catch up time!!!
My last two posts have been more towards Kesley, but I really want this one to be about Konner. He has grown up so much this past 6 months. He's growing up faster then I would like. He is now 3.5 years old. He is starting to be more independent, and is always happy to play. He is such a great big brother. He LOVES his little sister and loves to hold her, kiss her, talk to her, give her baths, start her musical, help change her diapers even the messy ones, and tells her all the time he loves her, and he loves to make her laugh and consoles her when she cries. His favorite show on TV is Paw Patrol. He even named his daddy's new horse Ryder after a character on the show. He loves to box with his daddy at night and wrestle like ninja turtles. His favorite toys right now is his ninja turtles, his farm animals/ barn, and his zoo animals. His favorite color is Orange. His favorite candy is Whoppers, Skittles, and orange tootsie pops. His favorite food is Digornio pizza, meat balls and spaghetti, chicken nuggets, corn bread and Chettos. His favorite drink is orange carrot juice. He loves to paint, read, color, and do puzzles. He loves to make cupcakes which we do a lot. Konner is now going to Pre-School. His teacher is Mrs. Jamee, he loves her. He is so excited to go and come home and show us what they did at school. He says he's a big enough boy to walk to Mrs. Jamee's door to stay in the car. He has a special place on our living room wall where he tapes up his school work from the day for everyone to see when they come. He loves to play with his cousin Tayah who he played with a lot during the summer. And it's great because they live right across the road. Right now his best friend he says is Brany. And the person he loves most besides his mom, dad and sister is his Grandma Richens. He always wants her to come play animals, and that's where he wants to spend his time when he's not with us. He loves her and has to walk her to the door when she leaves to give her his kisses it's cute. He went to the dentist for his 4th time on Monday and he tells everyone he has no cavities ( thank goodness ). This year for Halloween Konner is going to be Michelangelo from TMNT and his dad is Raphael. These costumes fit these twos personalities to a T. Hence when I said they play it every night before Konners bed. So cute he tells us all the time he is having a TMNT birthday party which is not till March, but his mind is made up. His favorite songs right now are Old McDonald and Chick Chick Chick Chicken. Every morning on our way to and from school we listen to it which he loves I think it makes that moment feel all about him. We absolutely love this kid so much. He has grown up before our eyes. His personality is soo sweet he'd never hurt a fly but he'll also tell you how it is. (Just like his mommy and dad) I've noticed he is a leader not a follower in a group of kids and if he doesn't want to do what they are doing he won't. Including if he knows it would get him in trouble. Thank goodness I hope he sticks with that as he gets older. He likes things neat not messy and things exactly so so if not hell tell you. He even will call his dad at work and tell him how messy his dad is and how he needs to put away his pjs it's funny. He is always in a good mood unless he falls asleep after 4 then he's a fire cracker when he wakes up. He's the perfect combination of his daddy and mom. We love you so much and are so excited to see how your future turns out. You are an amazing kid to us and were so thankful to have you in our family. "Love you to pieces sweet boy"

Catch up time (Kesley)!!
Wow Time seems to have flowen By since my last post. It seems as if our life has been in shambles the last little while Taking each day one step at a time. Last time I posted I talked about Kesley Being in the ICU unit. This time is also about Kesley and her progress. Me and Jeremy was out in slc for a little over two weeks with her. In those two weeks I had a total of 3 procedures done my self, and Kesley tried to keep growing everyday. On July 7 our double digited lucky numbers Kesley did a turn around for the better. On 7/6 around midnight they gave her surfactant to try and open her airways up. We were told that 50% of the time it does not work and you have to try a second round of it if it didn't. Low and behold when I awoke 7/7 I told Jeremy this was our day for our daughters life to have a turn around. As we walked from our room to to hers I knew we had God on our side. We walked in to the doctor and nurses examining her and then they told us the news we had awaited for, that the surfactant had helped her tremendously and there would not be a second round required. Even tho this was great news it was just a small stepping stone in the next few weeks that Kesley had to climb and over come in order for her to come home. As the week progressed she moved up from the canula breathing machine, to another oxygen machine then finally a room air oxygen machine. This is when they finally told us we could start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and yo kind of start the planning of bringing her home. But at this point she still needed to come down on the percentage of oxygen she was requiring and needed to gain weight consecutively each day, as she had lost a lot and needed to get back almost to get birth weight. It took four days to do that and on Monday we were told we would be able to take her home Tuesday July 16th, all though we would be taking her home on oxygen. Then just letting her little body rest, heal, recover and just wait till she decided she didnt the oxygen anymore. We were very excited to come home and get back to Konner. We was missing him do much. Thankfully my mom was great and would bring him out to see us and bring us new laundry as well. As we left the hospital about 2:30 on tuesday our nurse Cara that had been with Kesley from the start helped us to our car, it was a bittersweet moment. Knowing God had let us keep our our baby girl. Knowing we had alot of learning ourselves on what Kesley would require. Knowing that she still has a hard road ahead of her to overcome but that she had just overcame the worst. In the days following she had to go to the doctor at least once a week if not more for the first 1.5 months. She was hospitalized once in Vernal, we had to take her to primary children's where we learned she had a narrowing in her descending aorta, and time would tell if she need surgery or not. At 9 weeks old she had gotten fully off of her oxygen and by September 16th the same day that we was able to bring her home on in July we were able to turn off all monitors she was hooked up to at home. And on September 29th we were able to finally take her out and have her blessed. October 1st another apt at Primarys where we learned the aorta had opened up as shes growing which meant no surgery. Our family has grown stronger through this time, we know nothing can break us, we have been through the worst of the worse. We have overcame many trials and difficulties as a small family. We have grown and learned much. As we know that this is just the beginning of a new journey for all of us.
